Agrinos’ Simon Hendry Selected to Serve on the British Standards Institute (BSI)

OSLO, Norway (March 20, 2018)—Agrinos agronomist Simon Hendry was recently appointed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to represent the United Kingdom on the working group for biostimulants.

BSI, the national standards body of the UK, develops commercial and industrial standards to help promote trade, reduce waste and protect consumers with uniformity in products.

Simon Hendry, Agrinos agronomist, was recently appointed by the British Standards Institute (BSI) to represent the United Kingdom on the working group for biostimulants.

“I am honored to serve on this committee and help advance the biostimulant industry,” Hendry said. “It’s critically important to determine acceptable standards of efficacy for agricultural crop inputs as this allows companies to bring the best products to market and clearly indicate performance expectations for customers.”

Hendry was selected to sit on a committee for matters related to “Claims of Efficacy of Biostimulants” and will serve as the British expert on the European Committee for Standardization (CEN).

“Defining biostimulants and establishing a clear regulatory path for their commercialization is crucial for continued innovation, development and adoption of these valuable inputs,” said Terry Stone, Agrinos’ vice president of regulatory affairs and sustainability programs. “Simon’s appointment to this prestigious position comes at a great time as more growers are realizing the benefits these products have for their operations.”
